Inspecting lenses in the existing setup
Lens size and shape vary, making consistent inspection difficult. Manual checks are labor-intensive and prone to error, and SigmaKoki needed more accurate defect detection with cost-effective quality control.
Eureka and SigmaKoki collaborated on an inspection application that uses deep learning to identify subtle defects in transparent lenses. The Eureka Controller connects the inspection technology to SigmaKoki’s existing setup, automating a process previously dependent on manual examination.
Detection results and production benefits
The collaboration reports nearly 100% detection success for lens defects. Automating inspection also reduces manual inspection work and labor costs while allowing lenses to be checked faster without compromising inspection accuracy.
